A student of the International Preparatory Department from Cameroon recited an excerpt of the “Shurale” poem in Tatar language.
Ms. Nguimtson Stephanie Marway, a student of the International Preparatory Department of KNRTU-KAI, was awarded the 1st degree diploma in the nomination “The Tatar Language is the Language of My Soul” at the Republican Youth Scientific and Creative Contest “If you want to touch the soul of the people...” for presenting passage from Tukai’s poem “Shurale” in Tatar language. The audience welcomed her performance with great applause.
The competition is dedicated to the great Tatar poet Mr. Gabdulla Tukai and is held annually on the eve of April 26 - the Day of Native Language and the birthday of the poet. This year the contest took place on April 23, the eve of the 139th anniversary of the founder of Tatar poetry. The event was organized by the Department of Tatar Linguistics of Kazan Federal University.
